What did I do!!!What Did I Do?
You got her when she was just a pup,
You fed and loved her, she drank from your cup,
As she got older, in heat she did come,
Six puppies were born, you loved me none.
My mom was full blooded and so was my dad,
But down through the bloodline, was found one unpure bred.
As would have it, it would be my luck,
I was the one they thought ugly and would say, "yuck".
Tried to be good, I didn't get into trouble,
I licked and played acting so humble.
Next thing I know, I'm riding in your car,
All waggy tailed, excited, wondering where we are.
The car stops, out I go, left all alone,
on the side of the road.
Wondering, "What did I do?"
Shivering from the cold, hungry, looking for food,
Angels look down, asking, "What did he do?"
I look down the road, see children at play,
I run as fast as my little legs will carry,
A child picks me up, her name is Mary.
I get hugs and love and a warm meal every night,
Sitting on my new found master's lap,
Mary looks down and wonders to herself,
"What did I do?
To deserve a wonderful pup as you."
God looks after the throw aways, with all His Might.
